The University of Minnesota Public Health Officer is a senior administrator with responsibility and authority for overseeing public health emergency response on campus. During designated public health emergencies, the Public Health Officer will develop response recommendations in consultation with AHC-OER, the Officer of the Day, and other internal and external partners as needed. Depending on the nature of the incident, recommendations may include canceling classes or events, evacuating or closing buildings, or providing preventive medications through mass clinics. The Vice President for Health Sciences, or his/her designee, serves as the Public Health Officer for the Twin Cities Campus.
